Farmhand, best friend, Husband

With Valentine’s Day being this month, I have been reflecting on all the sweet gestures and endless support my husband, Micah, provides. Working a full-time job and running a flower farm is time consuming to say the least. There have been many instances where I was afraid that I would have to let the flower farm go to maintain balance in my life. However, every time I feel stretched thin, Micah is there taking on tasks that I can’t manage on my own so that I can continue to follow my flower dreams. Whether he is cutting blooms alongside me, late at night, or feverishly building a custom greenhouse on the weekends, I can feel his love and support in every aspect of this small farm. 

I know how fortunate I am to have this level of support and I hope I reciprocate by supporting his dreams as well. Running any type of small business is exhausting, terrifying, exciting, and rewarding all at the same time. If you are in the process of starting your own farm or been doing it for years, be sure to give you partner a big squeeze this month. Whether they are your partner in life or your partner in business, relationships that strive towards the same goals deserve endless amounts of tender love and care.
